Semester 3: Applied Medical Practice & Community Health

    •  Typhoid, Malaria, Viral fevers

    • Referral system and patient triaging

  2. Gynecology & Obstetrics – I

    • Antenatal care (ANC) and postnatal care (PNC)

    • Menstrual disorders, common gynecological problems

    • Risk identification during pregnancy

  3. Pediatrics – I

    • Growth and development milestones

    • Common childhood diseases: measles, diarrhea, respiratory issues

    • Nutrition and immunization schedules

  4. Pharmacology – III

    • Drug interactions and adverse reactions

    • Rational use of antibiotics and painkillers

    • Safe use of vaccines and vitamin supplements

  5. Clinical Practice – I

    • BP measurement, blood sugar monitoring

    • Preparing patient case sheets

    • Assisting in minor wound dressing and medication

  6. Public Health Administration

    • Health schemes and programs (e.g., NRHM, RCH)

    • Record keeping and health reporting

    • Surveying rural health needs


Semester 4: Special Care & Field Training

  1. Internal Medicine – II

    • Emergency care: dehydration, poisoning, infections

    • Basic ECG interpretation

    • Infectious disease management (COVID-19 protocols, if applicable)

  2. Gynecology & Obstetrics – II

    • Conducting normal deliveries (under supervision)

    • Family planning and contraceptive counseling

    • Managing minor reproductive issues in the community

  3. Pediatrics – II

    • School health programs

    • Malnutrition and anemia management

    • Pediatric emergency first aid

  4. Pharmacology – IV

    • Inventory and management of essential drug kits

    • Procurement and storage standards

    • National List of Essential Medicines (NLEM) overview

  5. Internship / Field Training

    • 30–45 days practical posting at a PHC/clinic

    • Handling OPD care and patient education

    • Dispensing medicine under physician supervision

  6. Project Work / Case Study

    • Community health survey or disease-specific study

    • Submission of detailed project report

    • Viva-voce and evaluation by panel
