Assistant Nursing (GDA/ANM) – Eligibility Criteria

  1. Educational Qualification:

    • Minimum: 10th Pass

    • Age Limit:

    • Minimum: 17 years

    • Maximum: 35 years 

  2. Medical Fitness:

    • Candidate must be physically and mentally fit

    • A medical fitness certificate may be required

  3. Other Preferences:

    • Compassionate attitude and willingness to care for patients

    • Basic communication skills in local language and/or English


Syllabus for Assistant Nursing Course

1. Theory Subjects

  • Introduction to Nursing

    • Role and responsibilities of nursing assistants

    • Ethics and communication in patient care

  • Human Body and Basic Anatomy

    • Major systems of the body (circulatory, respiratory, digestive, etc.)

    • Basic understanding of vital signs

  • Hygiene and Infection Control

    • Handwashing techniques

    • Use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)

    • Disinfection and sterilization methods

  • Patient Care and Comfort

    • Bed making, bathing, feeding, toileting

    • Oral care and personal hygiene

    • Positioning and mobility assistance

  • Basic First Aid and Emergency Care

    • CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation)

    • Wound care, bleeding, burns, fractures

  • Nutrition and Diet

    • Basics of balanced diet

    • Feeding methods for patients (oral, NG tube, IV basics)

  • Vital Signs Monitoring

    • Temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure

    • Recording and reporting abnormalities

  • Medical Equipment Handling

    • Use of thermometers, BP apparatus, glucometers

    • Maintaining equipment hygiene
