Eligibility Criteria:

  • Educational Qualification:
    Minimum: 10+2 pass (Science stream )
    Subjects: Biology, Physics, Chemistry are required 

  • Age Limit:
    Minimum 17 years at the time of admission.

Year 1 / Semester 1

  1. Human Anatomy & Physiology

    • Structure and function of human body systems

    • Introduction to major organs and body functions

    • Medical terminology

  2. Basics of Operation Theater Techniques

    • Introduction to OT environment

    • OT equipment and instruments

    • Types of surgeries (general idea)

  3. Microbiology and Infection Control

    • Basics of microorganisms

    • Sterilization and disinfection methods

    • Universal precautions

    • Biomedical waste management

  4. Patient Care and Ethics

    • Pre-operative and post-operative patient care

    • Monitoring vital signs

    • Patient transport and positioning

    • Medical ethics and patient rights


Year 2 / Semester 2

 

  1. Surgical Instruments & Equipment Handling

    • Names and uses of surgical tools

    • Maintenance and sterilization

    • Operating autoclaves, suction machines, etc.

  2. Anesthesia Techniques (Basic Knowledge)

    • Introduction to anesthesia and types

    • Anesthesia cart preparation

    • Assisting anesthesiologist

  3. Operation Theater Procedures

    • Surgical gowning, scrubbing, and gloving

    • OT setup and table preparation

    • Draping techniques

    • Assisting in minor and major surgeries

  4. Emergency and Disaster Management

    • Handling OT emergencies (e.g., hemorrhage, shock)

    • CPR and basic life support (BLS)

    • Fire safety and evacuation

  5. Internship / Practical Training

    • Hands-on training in hospitals or clinical settings

    • Daily OT tasks and logbook maintenance

    • Performance evaluation by supervisors
