Syllabus 

Module 1: Introduction to Ayurveda

  • Basic principles of Ayurveda: Tridosha theory (Vata, Pitta, Kapha)

  • Panchamahabhuta concept

  • Dhatus, Malas, and Agni

  • Prakriti (body constitution) analysis

Module 2: Fundamentals of Panchakarma

  • Concept and purpose of Panchakarma (detoxification and rejuvenation)

  • Indications and contraindications

  • Snehana (Oleation) and Swedana (Sudation) therapies

Module 3: Panchakarma Procedures

  • Vamana – Therapeutic emesis

  • Virechana – Purgation therapy

  • Basti – Medicated enemas

  • Nasya – Nasal administration

  • Raktamokshana – Bloodletting techniques (basic understanding)

Module 4: Ayurvedic Massage (Abhyanga)

  • Types of massages (full body, head, foot, back)

  • Benefits and techniques of Abhyanga

  • Use of medicated oils according to Dosha

  • Marma therapy (vital points)

Module 5: Other Therapies

  • Shirodhara (oil pouring on forehead)

  • Pizhichil (oil bath massage)

  • Kizhi (herbal poultice massage)

  • Udvartana (dry powder massage)

  • Swedana using steam boxes or herbal decoctions

Module 6: Anatomy & Physiology (Basic)

  • Overview of human body systems

  • Understanding massage impact on muscles, lymph, and circulation

  • Ayurvedic vs. modern anatomy basics

Module 7: Hygiene, Safety & Ethics

  • Personal hygiene and therapist conduct

  • Sanitation and client care

  • Ethical practices and patient confidentiality

Module 8: Client Assessment & Therapy Planning

  • Identifying Prakriti and Vikriti

  • Designing individualized therapy plans

  • Recording and monitoring progress
