Syllabus 

Module 1: Introduction to Housekeeping

  • Role of housekeeping in various sectors (hotels, hospitals, offices, homes)

  • Types of housekeeping: domestic vs. institutional

  • Qualities of a good housekeeper

Module 2: Cleaning Techniques & Tools

  • Dry and wet cleaning methods

  • Use and maintenance of cleaning tools and equipment

  • Cleaning of floors, walls, windows, furniture, glass surfaces

  • Use of cleaning agents, disinfectants, and sanitizers

Module 3: Housekeeping Operations

  • Bed making and linen handling

  • Room cleaning (daily and deep cleaning procedures)

  • Restroom and bathroom cleaning and sanitization

  • Waste management and recycling

Module 4: Laundry and Linen Management

  • Sorting, washing, drying, and ironing clothes

  • Stain removal techniques

  • Handling hotel linens and guest clothing

  • Operating washing machines and dryers

Module 5: Guest Room Management (for hospitality settings)

  • Room preparation and turndown service

  • Stocking of amenities and supplies

  • Room inspection and checklists

  • Handling guest requests and lost & found procedures
